Non-Honours Bachelor’s Degree

Bachelor’s degree in arts or science programs generally takes four years (8 semesters). However, for Bachelor’s degree in Law, it takes 5 years (10 semesters).
Classes take the form of lectures, practical exercises, tutorial exercises and study trips (optional). The main function of the lectures is to impart general and basic knowledge about the various fields of study. Practical exercises and practicals, meanwhile, provide the opportunity to develop the theoretical knowledge gained in a practical manner. In the final year of their studies, seminar classes are added to afford an opportunity to deal in depth with a more narrowly defined topic.
The examinations are in general performed as an accompaniment to studies. However, there is an assessment for students’ performance such as whether they attend lectures, tutorial exercises and practical exercises regularly, performance in class (classroom discussion and group works; moot code for law students), field work (if applicable). A written paper (term paper or project paper) in their last year is obligatory for Bachelor’s study courses.

Honours Bachelor’s Degree

Entry to honours study is normally based on achievement of above average performance in their second year study. Students who passed second year with GPA ≥ 4 are eligible to attend B.A. (Honours) classes for three more years. After finished successfully, they are earned B.A. (Hons) degree majoring in History. Totally, it takes five years (10 semesters). A written paper (term paper or project paper) in their last year is obligatory.
A Bachelor Honours degree recognizes distinguished study. The award of honour recognizes outstanding achievement, meritorious achievement or a pass; these may be termed first class honours, second class honours: first or second divisions, and third class honours.
