History of the Department

Yadanabon University was founded in Mandalay City ancient cultural city of Upper Myanmar, at 22nd February 2000.

University and Colleges conduct to develop their disciplines by the studying (teaching and learning ) and researching of two main themes.

Yadanabon University initiated from Mandalay Regional College.

Mandalay Regional College was fristly opened from 1976 – 1977 academic year (22nd May 1977 ) in Mandalay  Nanshae ( east of place ) Pwe Kone School.

Similary, Geograpgy Department, Yadanabon University was also born with the Mandalay Regional  College.

In 1st April 1980, Mandalay Regional College to Mandalay University ( Yadanabonmi), in 18th September 1996, to Mandalay Yadanbon College was opened as well as Geography Department was opened as one of the departments of Mandalay Yadanabon College.

Then, Mandalay Yadanabon College was changed and opened  as the Yadanabon University, at the Taungtaman Village Tract, Amarapura Towniship. Similarly, Geography Department was also one of the departments of Yadanabon University, teaching and learning the geographical knowledges.

Now, from the beginning of 2022-2023 academic years, Enviromental Studies (BESd), applied subject is opened out by Geography Department, Yandanabon University.

  • To EDUCATE AND SUPPORT OUR STUDENTS IN DEVELOPING THE CAPACITY FOR BOTH INNOVATIVE AND INTEGRATIVE THINKING IN A VARIETY OF PROFESSIONAL AND INTELLECTUAL CONTEXTS.

Mission

  • To PROVIDE OPPORTUNITEIS FOR ALL STUDENTS TO DEVELOP A VARIETIES OF SKILLS IN SPATIAL ANALYSIS, APPLICATION OF FIELD BASED TECHNIQUES AND INTERPRETATIONS, ANALYTICAL LABORATORY PRACTICES AND THE USE OF GEOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY IN ADDITION TO AND SUPPORT A CLEAR UNDERSTANDING OF MANY GEOGRAPYICAL KEY CONCEPTS.

Descriptions Modules Offered

The purpose of this module is to enable students to understand the basic concepts of psychology. Students will learn, in the first semester, the nature, origin and methods of psychology. In addition, the module provides with the importance of biological bases of behaviour, sensation and perception in human behaviour, states of consciousness and learning. In the second semester, students will learn the human memory, motivation, emotion, intelligence, and personality which are factors related to the behaviour of human.
